15 tips to choose a good text type

Typies has a great write-up on many of the characteristics of type. This article doesn’t point out “rights” and “wrongs” but rather illustrates the differences between characteristics.

Today, I want to take time to analyze how to choose a correct text typography design in different cases. It is very important to understand that those tips are not conclusive, but they can be a good help at the moment of choosing a text type. In any case, it depends on what do you want to transmit with this type, because many times legibility is as much important as the character of the type.

Since we’ve begun to look at type in class, you will want to go ahead and give the article a look here. Remember, at this point we are simply trying to get our eyes to see the various nitty-gritty details.
